Job Title: CFO / Head of Finance / Financial Controller (Level and title tailored to candidate capability and experience)
Target Locations: Jakarta, Indonesia (Preferred) or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Office based role)
Core Markets & Entities: Indonesia (Core operational hub), China, Singapore and Malaysia
Reporting & Collaboration: Direct partnership with the Founder; initial peer collaboration with the existing Head of Accounting & Tax and local country teams, transitioning into broader group leadership upon demonstrated capability.
Our client is a fast-growing, cross-border consumer brands enterprise specializing in home appliances, and everyday consumer products. Operating heavily across major e-commerce platforms (Shopee, TikTok) alongside established offline and B2B channels, the business generates strong momentum in its core Southeast Asian markets.
Key Responsibilities & Strategic Priorities
Priority 1: Group Financial Consolidation
Own and standardize the end-to-end group consolidation process across multi country, multi-entity operations in IDR, CNY, USD, MYR, and SGD.
Hands-on resolution of complex intercompany balances, elimination entries, foreign currency translation adjustments, and structural reconciliations.
Priority 2: Group Audit Coordination
Lead audit preparation and end-to-end liaison with BDO for Singapore standalone and Singapore-level group consolidated financial statements.
Manage coordination between BDO, local entity statutory auditors, and internal accounting teams regarding audit schedules, evidentiary backing, and technical adjustments.
Reconcile internal group management accounts with audited financial statements, driving unresolved technical or audit matters to timely completion.
Priority 3: Cross-Border Finance, Tax & Structural Governance
Evaluate group corporate structures, related-party transactions, intercompany loan agreements, transfer pricing policies, withholding tax exposures, and IP/brand licensing arrangements.
Build foundational finance and tax governance frameworks to support upcoming market launches
Priority 4: Financial Planning & Operations Support
Oversee group-level budgeting, rolling forecasts, unit-economics/profitability analysis, and working capital optimization, maintaining a clear division of operational responsibilities with local accounting teams.
Prepare high-level financial presentations for board members and prospective institutional partners when required.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
Hands-On Consolidation Experience: Direct experience preparing or managing multi-country, multi-entity financial consolidations involving foreign currency translations and intercompany eliminations.
Audit Leadership: Proven track record leading group audits with Big 4 or Mid-Tier international audit firms (e.g., BDO, PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG) will be an advantage.
Cross-Border Tax & Finance Acumen: Strong practical understanding of
intercompany funding, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax implications in SEA/APAC.
Bilingual Proficiency (English & Mandarin)
Pragmatic, Collaborative Style: A hands-on leader who is comfortable diving deep into raw transaction data, preparing detailed schedules, and working collaboratively with an established local accounting team.
