• RN able to perform head-to-toe assessment on all outpatients and reassessments per
policy.
• Knowledge of medications, treatments, and their correct administration based on the age of the
patient and their clinical condition.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac disease/procedures/surgeries: MI, CABG, coronary stents,
angioplasty, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of chronic lung disease: COPD, ILD, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of pain assessment and management policies and procedures.
• Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces
the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular and pulmonary risk factors, how to
promote a healthy way of living through individual and group education and counseling sessions.
• Treat all patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and the
skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served.
• Communicate on a monthly basis with Cardiac Services Supervisor.
• Remain up-to-date on policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled, ready to work, and completes work within designated
time.
• Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement
activities.
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
• Maintains regulatory requirements.
• Supports and abides by the mission, standards, values, and policies of CHCS in all
activities.
• On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
• Other duties as requested
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Holds current active licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Kansas Board of Nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience:
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting, cardiac experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
Electronic Health Record Microsoft Suite of products Data Collection Tools.
Certifications & Licenses:
Current ACLS certification or within one year of hire.
