At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

A little more about your role…

Scotland is at the heart of the UK's energy transition.

From major transmission reinforcements and offshore wind developments through to HVDC infrastructure and grid modernisation programmes, unprecedented investment is taking place across the Scottish energy network. At WSP, we are supporting many of the projects that will define the next generation of energy infrastructure, helping connect renewable generation, strengthen network resilience and enable Net Zero ambitions across Scotland and the wider UK.

As a Cable Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex HVAC and HVDC cable systems across transmission, distribution, renewable energy and interconnector projects. Working from our Glasgow, Edinburgh or Perth offices, you will join a growing team of specialists that combines local Scottish knowledge with the scale and technical expertise of WSP's wider UK and global Energy business.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the most significant energy infrastructure projects currently being developed across Scotland, while helping to shape and grow a long-term cable engineering capability in the region.

Why join our Scotland Energy Networks team?

• Shape Scotland's Energy Future: Help deliver the transmission and cable infrastructure required to connect renewable generation and support Scotland's Net Zero ambitions.
• Work on Landmark Projects: Contribute to nationally significant HVAC and HVDC projects, including onshore and offshore transmission systems, interconnectors and renewable energy developments.
• Build Local Capability: Be part of our continued investment in Scotland, helping develop a strong, sustainable engineering team across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth, supported by WSP's wider UK and international expertise.
• Technical Excellence: Work alongside recognised industry specialists across cable systems, substations, power systems, HVDC, offshore engineering and asset management.
