Job Description:
The MGS Business Change COE provides frameworks, advisory, tools and techniques to enable Mars change initiatives to be implemented effectively, drive value quickly and create sustainable change. Associates in this team balance expert functional knowledge and hands-on experience with a robust understanding of the Mars culture and organization.
The role of the Agile Capability Lead is to develop industry leading approaches in Agile to Mars. The role will work hands-on with Mars Associates in large, complex initiatives to ensure that we deploy practical approaches to deliver high value.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Acts as the Agile Subject Matter Expert for Mars Incorporated:
Collaborate with external thought leaders and Industry experts to keep our Agile knowledge, guidance, tools, templates, and services relevant
Works with Mars change initiatives to provide hands-on services, including Team Agility Checks and upskilling workshops, advisory and coaching.
Codifies learnings from these hands-on customer engagements to build insights into refining our knowledge, guidance, tools, templates, and services.
Shares learnings back with external thought-leaders and Industry experts and peer organizations.
Acts as the Product Owner for the Agile capability.
Builds and maintains a Roadmap for continuously improving Agile at Mars. Ensure that this takes account of both MGS/Mars priorities and end-user needs.
Maintain a prioritized back-log of Improvement to be made to our Agile Capability (e.g. guidance, tools, templates, services, learning solutions).
Be accountable for development and delivery of capability improvements, managing and measuring the work to be delivered by other team members, contractors and other Associates in change roles.
Ensure that the Agile Capability Is managed according to our own change practices: e.g. Agile Product Management.
Works with leaders of MGS Priority Initiatives to provide hands-on services requiring expert Agile knowledge and strong leadership skills
The role-holder will typically provide these services to high-criticality / high complexity projects that require both expert-level Agile experience and strong leadership skills (e.g. conflict management, dealing with ambiguity, comfort around higher management, standing alone). Services that require either an advanced level of Agile or experience in simpler project environments will typically be managed by T2-level Associates or will be outsourced.
Proactively collaborates with other team members, partner teams and outsourced service providers.
Works closely with the "L&D, Community and Content" role-holder for Agile. Partner on building the roadmap and backlog, while retaining overall accountability for them.
Partner with other Capability Lead roles in the team (e.g. Project, Program & Portfolio) to share learnings and ensure that the approach to development of the capabilities is consistent.
Partner with CoEs of related competencies (e.g. Change Management, Design Thinking) and other change teams in the business to provide a joined-up, user-centric approach to our customers.
Manage the supplier relationships for outsourced Agile services.
Takes a leadership role in Business Change development projects outside of Agile
Where capacity allows, take a leading role to develop new products or services for the Business Change team that span multiple Capabilities. An example Is the team's Resourcing Services which support Project, Agile, Program Management and Change Management.
What are we looking for?
Essential: Certified in AgilePRINCE2, Disciplined Agile or equivalent
Essential: Certified in Prosci Change Management
Desired: Other change certification , e.g., MSP, MoP , etc.
Robust experience of leading/influencing transformational change across a range of business functions.
The applicant will have already held an Agile or Project Management role at an upper-end T2 level or T3 level before taking on this role.
Experience of managing both successful and unsuccessful change activities is highly desired.
Proven knowledge of, and experience facilitating change workshops with all levels of Associates and leadership and agile teams
Proven knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in applying learning theory and iterative instructional design methodologies
Track record of designing, developing, and implementing high-impact learning solutions and projects, using a variety of innovative approaches
Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high pressure environment
