The Brake Press Operator 4 - Offline Programmer performs offline programming and operates CNC brake press machines to fabricate metal components. The Brake Press Operator 4 – Offline Programmer is responsible for performing offline programming, job dispatch, setting up, and operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a metal fabrication environment. This position will have expertise with blueprints, precision measuring tools, and CNC or manual brake press equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform offline programming utilizing specialized company software
• Assist in job dispatch as needed
• Set up and operate brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components.
• Perform programming operations on brake press machines.
• Adjust settings/programs as needed.
• Produces simple to complex parts (multiple bends and bend sequences).
• Coordinates with team on transporting finished parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machine settings and part specifications.
• Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and troubleshooting to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to maintain quality control.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
• Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.
• Train and coach employees on fundamental brake press operations including setups and troubleshooting.
