The BIM Manager leads the consistent, effective use of Building Information Modeling across projects delivered from the Bogota office. This role connects project teams, design partners, and corporate VDC leadership to improve model quality, coordination, information exchange, and delivery predictability from project startup through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Lead BIM execution for assigned projects, establishing practical modeling, coordination, documentation, and information-management expectations at project kickoff.
Develop, implement, and maintain project BIM Execution Plans, model-authoring protocols, naming conventions, file structures, exchange requirements, and coordination workflows.
Coordinate multidisciplinary models and design information using Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and related tools; identify issues early and drive timely resolution.
Review models, drawings, and coordination deliverables for completeness, constructability, consistency, and compliance with project and corporate standards.
Support project managers, design leaders, engineers, and production teams with BIM planning, model health reviews, troubleshooting, and delivery strategy.
Manage model federation, clash detection, issue tracking, coordination meetings, and reporting through defined project milestones.
Establish quality-control checks for model geometry, metadata, views, sheets, linked files, coordinates, worksharing, and published deliverables.
Maintain alignment between project requirements and corporate VDC standards, templates, libraries, workflows, and approved technology practices.
Provide training, coaching, and technical support to BIM Coordinators, model authors, and project team members; promote consistent adoption of best practices.
Contribute lessons learned, standards updates, process improvements, and automation opportunities to the broader VDC and Design Technology program.
Support data requirements for handover and closeout, including structured model information, asset data, COBie or equivalent requirements, and record documentation when applicable.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or a related field; Alternate education and experience will be considered.
Five or more years of experience supporting BIM or VDC delivery on architecture, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Demonstrated experience leading BIM coordination, model management, or digital delivery across multiple disciplines and project phases.
Advanced working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks, with practical experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud or a comparable common data environment.
Ability to read and interpret design documents, construction documents, models, specifications, and coordination reports.
Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly with local and international teams.
Strong organization, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a BIM Manager, VDC Manager, Digital Delivery Manager, or similar leadership role.
Experience developing BIM Execution Plans, project standards, model health checks, clash-detection rules, and quality-control procedures.
Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Power BI, scripting, automation, or other tools that improve production and coordination workflows.
Knowledge of ISO 19650 principles, local project-delivery requirements, information standards, and structured asset or handover data.
Experience working with distributed teams, offshore or nearshore production groups, consultants, contractors, and clients.
Relevant professional certification or training in BIM, VDC, Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or related platforms.
