Bid and Technical Writer

• Client-facing consulting role

• Diverse clients and landmark projects

• Winners of The Australian Best Places to Work award

Are you one of us?

Aurora Marketing is Australia’s leading bid management consultancy. We help clients win tenders, bids, proposals and submissions, and help them with complex documents like capability statements, marketing collateral, award submissions and grant applications.

This is not an in-house writing role. It is client-facing consulting work.

Our projects move quickly, priorities shift, deadlines are real and they come at you quickly. You’ll need to think fast, write clearly and deliver work that makes commercial sense.

We work with top-tier blue-chip companies, growing businesses and niche operators across almost every sector. We are especially known for major and mega projects in construction, infrastructure and defence. Think landmark projects that reshape skylines, connect communities and improve the lifestyles of Australians across the country.

The work is strategic, technical and creative. It demands sharp thinking, disciplined writing and a genuine commitment to helping clients win.

In return, we invest heavily in our people. You’ll receive industry-leading training in our exclusive bid methodology and access to Australian-first bid technology. We coach our team in marketing strategy, buyer behaviour, relationship management, storytelling and innovation. We know that when you level up, we all level up.

Our people are everything

We're winners of The Australian Best Places to Work award because of our team. High performing, genuinely brilliant people who enjoy complex problem solving together. We are proud to have such a talented team and we recruit carefully to maintain the positive work culture we’ve created together.

We're looking for interesting people from diverse backgrounds who are polished writers and can think commercially. Curiosity, discipline and resilience matter in this space.

And yes, the drive to win matters too. Because there is no second place when it comes to bidding.

To help our clients win, our Casual Bid Writers need:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in bid writing, technical writing or similar professional writing roles

• The ability to work from the Sydney CBD

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information without losing meaning

• Strong commercial judgement (understanding scope, value and what matters to the client)

• The ability to flex with workflow demands and manage competing deadlines

• A client-centred approach to service delivery

• Excellent time management and communication skills

• Confidence developing clear value propositions and positioning strategies

• Strong capability in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint

• An understanding of casual work and what to expect.

Hard work pays off

We recognise the work our team puts in and we value their contributions. Our casual team members are paid an attractive hourly rate aligned with experience and they also qualify for additional incentives like our annual loyalty bonus, quarterly Above & Beyond bonus and Flare benefits membership.

Importantly, casual does not mean peripheral. You will be welcomed as part of the team and have access to the same professional development opportunities as our permanent team members.

If you want meaningful work, a new challenge every day and a great team who will work shoulder-to-shoulder with you, you just might be one of us.

To apply, please include a cover letter and resume to demonstrate experience and writing and formatting capability.

At Aurora Marketing, inclusion is more than a value - it’s how we work. We believe that great outcomes come from a rich mix of talents, perspectives and experiences.
