The Role and Why It's Important

At Hy-Vee, our bakery department helps customers celebrate life's biggest moments, and our Bakery Cake Designers are at the heart of making those moments special. • Order supplies for the decorating area and check off the order upon receipt

• Deliver product and set up wedding cakes on site outside the store

• Communicate with the Bakery Manager daily regarding displays, weekly ads, and special needs

• Operate as a lead with part-time and other employees by instructing and reviewing their work

• Participate in employee cross-training

• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe at all times

• Answer the phone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call, including taking product orders

• Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines

• Pitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up
