Detailed Job Description

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robust backend services that power modern web and enterprise applications. Working closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and engineering teams, you will build scalable APIs, event-driven architectures, and high-performance distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, cloud platforms, databases, and containerized environments. You will also play a key role in ensuring application security, reliability, observability, and performance while contributing to the organization's technology growth and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, Express.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal and external applications and services.
• Develop event-driven and message-based services using modern messaging technologies.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data access layers.
• Implement caching, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.
• Integrate cloud-native services and infrastructure into backend applications.
• Ensure application security through authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
• Monitor application performance and implement observability and logging solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation activities.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Contribute to Agile/Scrum development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with Express.js and/or NestJS frameworks.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases.
• Knowledge of Redis caching technologies.
• Experience with Elasticsearch for search and analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or similar messaging platforms.
• Knowledge of JWT, JWKS, API Keys, and modern application security practices.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI and Swagger documentation standards.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Data Structures.
• Experience writing unit tests and supporting software quality initiatives.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with microservices and distributed systems architectures.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and cloud automation.
• Experience with monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Familiarity with serverless technologies and event-driven cloud architectures.
