AV Sales Engineer

Company Overview

We are partnering with a highly respected custom integration company serving the Capital Region and surrounding areas for more than 40 years. Known for delivering premium smart home, audio/video, networking, security, and automation solutions, this organization has built one of the strongest reputations in the region through exceptional workmanship, technical expertise, and customer service.

As a long-standing member of industry-leading organizations and a company committed to excellence, they continue to invest in their team, technology, and training to stay at the forefront of the integration industry.

Why Join Us?

- Represent the Full Product Line — You will not be boxed into a single specialty like audio or lighting. Sell the full range of shading, lighting, audio/video, networking, security, and automation solutions the team installs.

- A Blended Role, Not Just the Road — Split your time between engaging clients in the showroom and actively building new business in the field, rather than living out of your car full time.

- Own the Sales Process — Design your own system proposals and presentations and see them through to the close, working alongside a small, experienced team rather than handing designs off to someone else.

- Uncapped Earning Potential — Compensation includes a base salary plus commission, with no cap on what you can earn.

- Real Investment in Your Growth — The team has sent salespeople to manufacturer training and supported self-guided certification, and will do the same for you as you ramp up.

- A Tight-Knit, 40+ Year Team — Join one of the most respected integration companies in the Capital Region, where reputation and relationships open doors that cold outreach alone cannot.

Job Overview

We are looking for an AV Sales Engineer to develop new business and manage client relationships across a full range of technology solutions, from shading and lighting control to audio, video, networking, security, and automation systems. This role blends elements of an

outside hunter, actively pursuing new business in the field, with a farmer, nurturing walk-in and repeat clients from the showroom. You will design your own system packages, put together client-facing proposals, and present them directly, working independently rather than handing designs off to a separate design team.

The ideal candidate has some experience in a related sales environment, whether that is AV, low-voltage, home technology, window treatments, or another adjacent retail or technology field, but places just as much value on hunger, adaptability, and the willingness to learn. You will work on a small, close-knit team where your contributions are visible and valued every day.

- Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat and referral business

- Stay current on new technology platforms through ongoing manufacturer training Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- Experience in outside or inside sales, ideally within AV, low-voltage, home technology, or a closely adjacent field

- Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and close sales independently - Comfortable representing a full range of technology solutions rather than one specialty - Strong communication and presentation skills
