Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Automation Field Service Technician to install, start up, troubleshoot, and service industrial automation equipment at customer facilities.
The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience in PLC-controlled machinery, robotics, machine controls, or industrial automation. You do not need experience with every technology we use—we are looking for strong troubleshooters who are willing to learn.
Responsibilities
- Install, start up, troubleshoot, repair, and service automated equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, controls, and equipment problems.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, I/O, drives, and machine controls.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Support machine startup, commissioning, debug, and production.
- Provide professional technical support and training to customers.
- Document service activities and corrective actions.
- Follow all company and customer safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, controls, machine service, robotics, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field .
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting automated or PLC-controlled machinery.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, or similar controls/robotics platforms .
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with HMIs, robotics, vision systems, VFDs, servos, and industrial I/O is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently at customer facilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.
- Technical degree/certification ; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely in industrial environments.
Travel
50%–70% travel required, including frequent overnight travel throughout the U.S. Occasional international travel may be required. Paid travel time, overtime, per diem, company vehicle/rental car, airfare/hotel coverage, mileage reimbursement, travel incentives, or comp time.
