Automation Engineer

ZEISS Group in Lombardy seeks an Automation Engineer to design, test, implement and operate automation systems, aiming to simplify production, increase efficiency and maintain product quality while adhering to internal protocols.

The role collaborates with production and maintenance teams for the deployment of new automated processes, scouts suppliers, develops software and control logics, and leads projects from concept to installation across regions including China.

Design and test automated systems to improve production efficiency. Develop software and control logic for PLCs and automation equipment. Coordinate with suppliers for automation components and integration. Create technical specifications and project documentation. Support commissioning and start-up of new automation lines. Provide training to technicians and operators on automation systems. Experience designing and implementing industrial automation projects. Ability to translate production needs into automation specifications. Familiarity with PLC programming and SCADA interfaces. Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and documentation. Collaboration with production, maintenance and engineering teams.
