The Chrysos commitment and mission:
Here at Chrysos we combine science and software to create technology solutions that are changing the global mining industry; both from a productivity and environmental impact perspective.
Just like atoms and machines, we believe that everyone is different and how individuals come together is what makes us successful. Headquartered in Adelaide and with team members based in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, Canada, Chile, Suriname and North America, Chrysos Corporation’s diverse team of scientists, engineers and industry specialists are coming together to build technologies to provide rapid, accurate and safe ore analysis for the global mining industry.
The company’s flagship technology, PhotonAssay™, steps around centuries-old chemistry-based assay methods to deliver true ‘atom-counting’ analysis for the measurement of gold and other high-value metals. With successful global installations, Chrysos is taking PhotonAssay™ to customers around the world – Chrysos could take you to places that you might not have even imagined yet. There’s opportunity around every corner and the support to help you achieve your goals.
About the role:
Chrysos is looking for someone who has a passion for technology and wants to see their contribution provide measurable benefits across the business. The role will partner with the business to identify opportunities within existing business processes to bring scale and efficiency through AI and automation, while also investigating novel uses of AI specific to Chrysos. You will then design, build, maintain and monitor the solutions that solve business problems, upskilling teams along the way.
What you will do:
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify manual, repetitive or inefficient processes suited to automation or AI
- Design, build and maintain automations and integrations using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio)
- Develop and support AI-enabled workflows and AI agents, applying sound judgement about when automation, scripting or an LLM-based approach is the right tool
- Build integrations across business systems using APIs, connectors and scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell, JavaScript)
- Prototype, test and validate solutions before moving them into production
- Document, test and maintain implemented automations and AI solutions to ensure long-term reliability and supportability
- Monitor deployed solutions for performance, cost and reliability, escalating issues as required
- Apply responsible AI practices (privacy, security and accountability) in line with Chrysos's AI governance framework
- Stay abreast of emerging automation and AI platforms (e.g. AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry) and contribute to their future evaluation and adoption
- Work directly with teams across the business to understand pain points and turn them into workable technical solutions
- Explain solution options and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team on integration, security and deployment considerations
- Contribute to Chrysos's AI Guild initiatives, including use case intake, governance processes and knowledge sharing
- Provide basic training and ongoing support to end users of deployed automations and AI tools
Who you are:
Essential
- 1–3 years’ experience in a technical role involving automation, scripting, integrations or software development
- Practical, hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) or a similar low-code automation tool
- Working knowledge of APIs and system integration concepts
- Basic to intermediate scripting/programming ability (e.g. Python, JavaScript, PowerShell or C#)
- An analytical, solutions-focused mindset with a genuine interest in solving business problems through technology
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to document and maintain solutions for long-term supportability
Desirable
- Exposure to AI/LLM tools, prompt engineering or building AI agents (e.g. Copilot Studio, OpenAI or Anthropic)
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration fundamentals
- Awareness of, or interest in, emerging AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore or Azure AI Foundry
- Experience working with structured or unstructured data, including basic reporting or data extraction
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
