Healthcare AV Support Technician

New Haven, CT

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

About the Opportunity

Join a leading healthcare organization that is investing heavily in the future of patient care through smart room technology, virtual care platforms, and next-generation healthcare solutions.

We are seeking a Healthcare AV Support Technician to help deploy and support technology throughout a brand-new neuroscience facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their AV or technology career who wants hands-on experience with enterprise-level technology deployments while building a long-term career in healthcare technology.

We're not looking for someone with years of experience. We're looking for someone who is motivated, technically curious, enjoys working with technology, and wants the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Whether you've worked as an AV Technician, AV Installer, Conference Room Support Technician, Desktop Support Technician, Help Desk Technician, or completed a relevant internship, this could be an outstanding opportunity to take the next step in your career.

What You'll Be Doing

• Install and configure cameras, displays, smart TVs, microphones, speakers, and other audiovisual technology
• Support smart room technology deployed throughout patient care areas
• Assist with technology rollouts across nearly 200 patient rooms
• Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of newly installed equipment
• Support virtual care and telehealth technology platforms
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
• Work alongside vendors, project teams, and technology staff during deployments
• Stage, inventory, track, and deploy new technology equipment
• Provide onsite support during major technology implementations and go-live events
• Maintain deployment documentation and technical records

What We're Looking For

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in:

• AV installation or support
• Conference room technology
• Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms
• Classroom technology
• Desktop support
• Help desk support
• Technical field services
• Low-voltage or structured cabling internships
• Technology deployment projects

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Displays and digital signage
• Smart TVs
• Cameras and microphones
• AV control systems
• Unified communications technology
• Basic networking
• Enterprise technology support

Required Qualifications

• 6 months to 3 years of AV, technical support, or related experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of Windows-based technology environments
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

The Personality Fit We're Looking For

The ideal candidate isn't necessarily the person with the most experience. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys being hands-on, and takes pride in helping technology work the way it's supposed to.

The type of person who will be successful in this role is someone who:

• Enjoys figuring things out when technology isn't working
• Likes being active and moving around instead of sitting behind a desk all day
• Wants exposure to large enterprise technology environments
• Is comfortable asking questions and learning from experienced teammates
• Takes initiative when they see a problem that needs to be solved
• Communicates well with both technical and non-technical users
• Has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Wants a long-term career in AV, healthcare technology, or IT support

This is an especially strong opportunity for someone who has completed an AV, IT, networking, or technology internship and is looking for a chance to join a large organization where they can continue developing their technical skills.

Why This Opportunity?

This role supports one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the Northeast, known for its commitment to innovation, patient care, and technology investment.

You'll gain exposure to:

• Smart room technology
• Enterprise AV deployments
• Virtual care and telehealth platforms
• Healthcare technology initiatives
• Large-scale technology implementation projects
• Vendor coordination and project support

Unlike many entry-level AV roles that focus strictly on installation work, this position offers the opportunity to learn both the deployment and support side of enterprise technology while working inside a complex healthcare environment.

You'll work alongside experienced technology professionals, support one of the organization's most visible technology initiatives, and gain highly marketable experience that can help launch a career in AV, IT support, healthcare technology, unified communications, or technical project work.

Ideal Candidate Backgrounds

We would love to speak with candidates who have experience such as:

• AV Intern
• Junior AV Technician
• AV Installer
• Conference Room Technician
• Classroom Technology Technician
• Desktop Support Technician
• Help Desk Technician
• Low Voltage Technician
• Field Service Technician
• IT Support Specialist

Career Growth

This is much more than just another AV installation position.

You'll have the opportunity to gain experience supporting nearly 200 next-generation patient rooms while learning how enterprise healthcare technology is deployed, supported, and maintained. The experience gained in this role can create career paths into AV Engineering, Unified Communications, Healthcare Technology, Technical Project Coordination, Telehealth Support, and IT Infrastructure Support.

For someone looking to get their foot in the door with a premier healthcare organization and build a long-term technology career, this is an exceptional opportunity.
