Associate Data Platform Engineering Manager

From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses, to supporting their clients to arrange 'me time' moments, we’re in the business of elevating people - helping them to thrive and feel fantastic. Lifting others up can be hard, heavy work, and we passionately believe that the sense of purpose and personal satisfaction this brings are worth it.

What started in Poland is now an international, cloud-based marketplace that’s scaling rapidly. We bring independent business owners together with their customers on a product that connects creative communities and opens up worlds of opportunities.

For our providers, our products offer services for getting booked, paid, and building a loyal client base. For their clients, we’re where they can find their favourite spots, discover new businesses and book appointments in an instant.

Working in a rapidly growing, ever-changing scale‑up comes with its own set of opportunities and challenges. If you prefer a stable environment, with clear processes and structures then, we've got to be honest, you won't always find that here. However, if you enjoy inventively solving problems with others, helping create clarity when things get confusing, and prioritising your own path within ambiguity, then the chances are that you'll love the opportunities available to grow your career at Booksy.

The people you’ll like to work with and things you'll enjoy impacting:

As an Associate Data Platform Engineering Manager reporting to the Head of Data Engineering in our Data & Analytics - Data Platform Engineering team, your purpose will be to lead a small, high‑impact team of 2-3 platform engineers while staying heavily involved in hands‑on technical work.

You’ll split your time between people leadership - coaching your team, driving agile delivery, and managing OKRs - and engineering tasks. You will design reliable Terraform/Terragrunt modules on GCP, champion data security controls (Dataplex, DLP), and establish standard, self‑service developer tools that empower our downstream data teams to build with confidence.

Essentially, to ensure you succeed in this role you’re going to need…

• Dual Track Experience: 5+ years of experience in data platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering, with initial experience leading, mentoring, or managing tech teams.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep, practical experience using Terraform/Terragrunt to architect and manage infrastructure, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
• Advanced Platform Skillset: Strong familiarity with GCP data services (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, GKE, IAM) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Platform-as-a-Product Mindset: A strong focus on customer enablement, platform reliability, system governance, and security.
• English Fluency: At a minimum, we require professional English language skills (B2 level or higher). Why? English is our company language and is used for any business‑wide communications, so we need you to be able to communicate smoothly to feel like an integrated part of Booksy.

It will also help you to have…

• Modern Open‑Source Tools: An open‑source‑first mindset when researching, evaluating, or building internal platform tools.
• Next‑Gen Architectures: Exposure to PySpark and open table formats (Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake).
• AI Integration: Experience or strong interest in applying AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude) and monitoring LLM‑driven pipelines.

Some of the benefits we offer are:

• We're proudly distributed across the globe, with each market being remote‑first. Depending on which market you're joining, you might have office access or be fully remote - either works. All we ask is that you're based in the country/region this role is advertised in.
• Additional benefits that might differ depending on the location. You shall be provided with the benefits details during or after your first conversation with one of our TA Specialists.
• Work in a welcoming team which is always ready to help.
• Opportunity to develop in an international environment - we have teams in 6 countries.

How AI helps us find great people

Think of our AI tool as a really smart assistant for our recruitment team. Its job? To help us move faster, stay consistent, and make sure no great candidates are overlooked. Every application goes through the same AI review to help us spot skills that match the role - but don’t worry, AI never makes the decisions. Real people do. Our recruiters and hiring managers handle every final call. And we regularly review how the tool is used to keep things fair, ethical, and compliant with data protection laws. Curious about how it works? You can always ask how AI was used in your application - it won’t affect your chances in any way.

If you have questions, just drop us a note – we’re happy to explain more.
