Asset Accounting Expert
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of outcomes within your country cluster as an empowered squad member.
- Co-create solutions with stakeholders through the Country Collaboration Framework, focusing on enhancing user experience, especially in operational areas where challenges arise.
- Record, verify, and execute tasks of high complexity according to process guidelines.
- Share knowledge within the squad and capability community, seek to build expertise, and support colleagues under guidance from senior members.
- Take ownership of capability process topics and supports the team and stakeholders seeking guidance when needed.
- Engage actively in global expert communities via calls and digital platforms, and coordinate local key user communities while connecting with global teams.
- Partner with the Global Expert Hub (GEH) to apply global standards and activity splits, and work with the GBS network to address Finance-related topics and implement necessary changes.
- Engage actively in GPO community discussions and supports implementation of regional process guidance.
- Ensure that ICS are finalized based on the latest changes to the desktop procedure and oversee the implementation of updates in ICS processes and controls.
- Act as Audit Coordinator, managing squad audit requests, tracking progress, and ensuring communication with local stakeholders while coordinating efforts across various capabilities.
- Engage actively in country and global projects, including legal entity and system integrations, acquisitions, or divestitures.
- Proactively identify issues and manage change effectively.
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate and support process improvements, contributing to quality and efficiency optimization.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to support squad outcomes, focusing on meeting agreed service levels and escalating issues when needed.
- Collaborate closely with GFO colleagues and proactively organize knowledge exchange to ensure the quality of processing and maintain the mediation between GFO and the business stakeholders, and Country Platform
Major Tasks – Asset Management
- Ensure correct and complete presentation of fixed assets information in local and global financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
- Drive timely and accurate asset capitalization processes by applying our unique expertise and close collaboration with project managers, fleet managers and other business users to ensure seamless integration of financial data
- Support optimization projects and continuous improvement initiatives in order to improve quality and efficiency
- Contribute to process improvements via automation, digitalization, simplification, etc., lead less complex initiatives
- Comply with accounting standards, policies and procedures
- Prepare and maintain reports as per scope and/or as requested
- Support in solving, follow up on issues and looking for solutions across teams, capability communities
- Monitoring key process metrics that measure performance
- Be and act as the expert, providing support and guidance to other colleagues
- Steer, actively participate and contribute to AA capability communities through global calls and other media.
- Ensures operational effectiveness of the internal control system relevant to the preparation and presentation of the Financial Statements
- Contribute to global as well local projects, legal entities and system mergers, acquisitions or divestitures
- Identify possible issues and subsequently manage changes.
- Conduct training activities & Identify training needs within the team, effective knowledge sharing, providing support and guidance to other collegues
- Act as Company Responsible and being main contact person for AA operational related topics for dedicated Legal Entities
- Act a Key User for specific area or tools (e.g. PO controls, Invetory, Trintech)
- Active contribution to process changes, new tool implementations and other projects & initiatives
- Active participation in meetings (e.g. Town Halls, operational meetings, community exchange, best practice sharing, workshops)
- Contribution to building strong asset accounting capability community, undetstanding of interactions with other capabilities
- Creating value with Business Partners – proposing solutions, participating in cross functional meetings
Who You Are
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- University degree with majors in Taxes, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent education
- +3 years of professional experience in Taxes, Accounting, Finance or Controlling
- Extensive knowledge of Finance systems and procedures both at a corporate level and a country/international level
- Thorough knowledge of global accounting and controlling standards and reporting requirements, accounting processes, internal controls and controlling concepts as well as local and global accounting policies (IFRS, local GAAP)
- Good understanding of group businesses as well as businesses specific and internal reporting related accounting practices
- Ability to work successfully with people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills
- Language: Strong level of English; any other language beneficial
- Expertise with enterprise-wide business systems thorough knowledge of ERP (SAP FI, CO, S4HANA) and BI systems and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications.

The minimum gross monthly salary for this role is 8,800.00 PLN. The final salary will be determined based on objective factors such as professional experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility.
This position is be eligible for variable pay components, such as annual or performance-based bonuses, awarded in accordance with the applicable employee group, role scope, and compensation structure.
