Art Director, Brand & Marketing

Want to influence the bigger picture? At Saab, you can realise amazing innovations that keep people and societies safe.

Your role

Ready to turn bold ideas into work people remember? Then come make it happen with us. Help build a marketing function worthy of our journey. As Art Director in Group Brand & Marketing, you are responsible for the creative direction, design and production of Saab’s highest-priority brand and marketing activities, working in close collaboration with our Integrated Marketing Lead / Creative Director, with clear alignment to Saab’s brand platform, marketing strategy and governance model.

Based on your experience, you have a comprehensive and holistic understanding of creative direction, design and content. This role operates at both strategic and operational levels and supports Saab’s positioning and business growth by translating our purpose, values and offerings into work that is clear, credible and distinctive. We are building a world-class brand and marketing team for the whole group, bringing brand strategy, campaign concepting, content and digital together under a single creative ambition, with a new brand platform now rolling out across the organisation. You will be one of the first creatives to join that build, with real ownership of the work and a short distance between having an idea and seeing it live.

You are based in Stockholm and will work with various departments, including Business Areas, sales, markets, and external production partners, to ensure creative work is consistent, high quality and relevant. The role will require some travel for productions, site visits and work with local teams and markets. You will also act as a senior creative voice and trusted partner to internal stakeholders, senior in judgement and hands-on by instinct, as comfortable holding creative direction on Group-level work as developing the work yourself.

Core Areas of Responsibility

• Adapt creative work for different platforms, audiences, markets and communication needs without diluting brand consistency.
• Art direct productions from brief to delivery, including concept, pre-production, production and post.
• Manage external agencies, production partners and freelancers to secure high-quality delivery on time and budget in line with Saab’s brand and marketing strategies.
• Provide clear, constructive and actionable creative feedback to colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
• Explore and test new creative ideas, formats, tools and channel behaviours, and bring evidence-based recommendations back to the team.
• Contribute to planning and prioritisation of the creative pipeline, ensuring effort is directed towards the activities with the greatest brand and business impact.

Your profile

You are a collaborative and adaptable creative professional who thrives in complex and international environments. You confidently move between strategic creative direction and hands-on execution, combining strong self-leadership with sound judgement and the ability to drive progress within your area of responsibility. You have a natural understanding of social media platforms, audience behaviours and channel best practices, with a strong sense of what makes content resonate and perform. You build trust across functions, markets and seniority levels, provide clear and constructive feedback, and are equally receptive to feedback from others. Curious, open-minded and eager to experiment, you are motivated by finding creative ways to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences. As a team player, you are comfortable taking on multiple responsibilities and contributing to a growing team environment. You also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
