As an Infrastructure Architect, you’ll provide technical leadership and governance across Heathrow’s data centre platforms, working closely with business partners, third-party suppliers, and internal teams. Your work will directly support Heathrow’s strategic goals, from enhancing operational efficiency to enabling cutting-edge digital services for millions of passengers. Success in this role means delivering robust, scalable solutions that meet business needs today while anticipating tomorrow’s challenges.
- Design and maintain data centre infrastructure architectures, ensuring alignment with Heathrow’s technology strategy and business objectives.
- Lead the development of roadmaps for infrastructure platforms, including Windows and non-Windows servers, virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix), and storage solutions (SAN and SAN Fabrics).
- Provide governance and assurance for technical designs, ensuring compliance with Heathrow standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions and influence technology decisions.
- Engage with third-party vendors to manage technical relationships and ensure service quality.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale infrastructure solutions within complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of data centre technologies, including virtualisation platforms, storage systems, and server infrastructure.
- Ability to develop and maintain architectural roadmaps and technical standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing technical decisions.
- Sound understanding of governance, compliance, and security principles in technology design.
Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Ideally you'll have the following:
- Experience with cloud integration and hybrid infrastructure models.
- Familiarity with airport or transport industry systems and processes.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application in enterprise environments.
