Analytics Quality Engineer - Maps on Web and iOS

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer responsible for the delivery and execution of tests to ensure seamless operation on the web. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of core web technologies, an understanding of web browsers, programming expertise, and proficiency in using web developer tools across different browsers. Initially, the candidate will focus on mastering Maps’ web testing infrastructure—browser internals, development tools, and large-scale web app validation—before progressing to iOS analytics testing. This growth-oriented role emphasizes strong web quality engineering ownership with a pathway to integrated cross-platform (web + iOS) analytics testing. Our team actively conceptualizes, iterates, and executes new features, functioning as one of the few generalist groups in Maps requiring no deep domain expertise.

Start date: January 2027

Duration: Long-term project (12 months contract + potential extension)

Location: Malmö (5 days onsite) + a number of evening meetings

Main Responsibilities:

• Testing large-scale web applications and formulating clear and comprehensive test scenarios and plans

• Writing automation tests for web interfaces and potentially iOS apps

• Executing problem-solving strategies to investigate and debug issues, independently and collaboratively

• Documenting issues and reporting on the status of features, both current and in-development

• Adhering to Agile software development methodologies/Scrum for rapid releases

• Communicating effectively and collaborating across various functions

• Expanding testing coverage to include iOS analytics and future web analytics

Key Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with testing large-scale web applications

• Analytical thinking abilities for constructing test scenarios and plans

• Expertise in writing automation tests for web and iOS platforms

• Strong debugging and analytical skills for problem investigation

• Experience working in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

• Willingness to expand testing focus into iOS analytics and future web analytics

Nice to Have:

• Experience with iOS XCTests

• Understanding of network security fundamentals

• Performance testing experience

• Familiarity with the Python scripting language
