AI Software Engineer – Bitonet

Do you want to join a small core team developing a highly innovative software platform with significant growth potential into a production-ready, secure, and globally scalable service?

Bitonet Ltd. is building a new AI-powered software product with strong international growth potential.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help us build the product.

This is not a role where you'll simply implement predefined tickets or maintain a legacy codebase. You'll have the opportunity to influence the architecture, technology choices, development processes, and ultimately shape the entire product.

If you've ever dreamed of a Founding Engineer-style role, without the risks of entrepreneurship, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What will you be building?

You'll help take a new AI product from concept to production and ultimately to international markets.

Your work will involve areas such as:

· Applied AI and machine learning

· Computer vision

· Backend services and APIs

· Modern web technologies

· Databases and data modeling

· Cloud infrastructure and Linux environments

· Security, performance, and scalability

More details about the product will be shared during the later stages of the recruitment process.

What will you do?

Your work will be varied, independent, and technically challenging. Typical responsibilities include:

· Designing software architecture and developing new features

· Designing and implementing AI functionality

· Building backend services, APIs, and databases

· Developing modern web user interfaces

· Designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure

· Improving system performance, security, and scalability

· Evaluating and adopting new technologies

· Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, product development, and UX design

What are we looking for?

You have experience delivering production software and enjoy solving technically demanding problems.

You have experience with several of the following:

· Python

· AI and machine learning solutions

· REST APIs

· React, Next.js, or similar frontend technologies

· SQL and PostgreSQL

· Docker

· Claude Code

· Codex

· Linux

· Git and CI/CD

Experience with any of the following is considered an advantage:

· PyTorch

· TensorFlow

· OpenCV

· MLOps

· Computer Vision solutions

· Building scalable SaaS applications

· Large Language Models (LLMs)

· Data engineering tools

· Deploying AI solutions into production business environments

We particularly value hands-on experience integrating AI solutions into production software used by real customers.

Excellent English communication skills are required. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.

You'll thrive with us if you...

· Enjoy building new products more than maintaining old systems

· Like taking ownership and making decisions

· Can move comfortably between architecture design and production code

· Enjoy solving technically challenging problems

· Think as much about the user experience as the technology

· Learn quickly and are eager to experiment with new ideas

What do we offer?

We offer an opportunity to build something where your impact is visible in every release.

You'll have the opportunity to:

· Build a completely new AI product from the ground up

· Play a key role in a small, ambitious core team

· Have genuine influence over architecture and technology decisions

· Continuously learn and develop your skills

· Work with modern tools and enjoy the freedom to make well-reasoned technical decisions

· Work from our office in central Helsinki (Annankatu) alongside a collaborative and supportive team

· Help create a product with significant international growth potential

· Receive a permanent employment contract with a salary of €3,500–5,000 per month, depending on your experience

What matters most to us is what you've built.

GitHub projects, personal applications, startup experience, open-source contributions, and production software you've delivered tell us far more than a long list of technologies on your CV.

Interested?

Our recruitment process includes a technical interview and a practical architecture or programming assignment.

If you're excited about building the next impactful AI product, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send your application, CV, and salary expectations as soon as possible, but no later than 23.8.2026. You're also welcome to include your GitHub profile, portfolio, or other examples of your work.

We review applications throughout the application period and will fill the position as soon as we find the right candidate.
