Builds AI-powered features (agents, document intelligence, workflow automation) for Vega’s private markets platform, bridging research to production while defining AI strategy across products and internal workflows.
AI Engineer
London, 4x days per week in-office
Vega is looking for AI-native builders to create the new way that work gets done in private markets.
About Vega
Vega is transforming the way private markets operate. Alternative asset management is one of the most influential forces in the global economy, with over $20TN in assets today. Over the next five years, the industry is set to grow 3x, but GPs are facing challenges around their ability to handle the investment flows that are coming in. GPs have been completely underserved by innovation, particularly on the investor relations side.
Vega built the industry’s first AI-native operating system, where all client work gets done - from the start of an investor’s journey to its end. We are rethinking how work gets done in private markets from first principles: the opportunity is big, but it’s also niche, high-stakes, and difficult to get right.
Who we are
We are still at the beginning of our journey. Vega was founded by former investors at Elliott and KKR, and built by talent from the world’s leading technology and financial services firms - including Trade Republic, Revolut, Goldman Sachs, BCG, and more. We have raised $30M so far, with the backing of Apollo, Motive Partners, and 60+ senior executives from the industry. Today, we have over $300B AUM and 30,000 users on the platform, and we have much more left to do.
How we do it
Vega is a fast-growing startup. We want to make this a career-accelerating place for people with the ambition to build something big. If the below sounds appealing, it could be for you:
We do not seek consensus. You will be expected to voice opinions and take initiative. Vega's best people do not wait to be told what to do before finding solutions to problems they have spotted.
We believe bureaucracy is the killer of progress. We are focused on creating the minimum viable process to operate with quality at speed.
We prioritise talent over tenure. There is no promise of progression without performance – we assess and reward people on impact above all else.
We iterate fast. We make decisions amid ambiguity and with imperfect information, and we strive to balance committing to a hypothesis with iterating at low ego.
We play to win. Expectations, intensity and ambition are very high, with every single colleague contributing to Vega's success. This often will not be a 9-5.
We know that this culture won’t be for everyone, and we endeavour to make this clear from the beginning of the recruiting process out of respect for your time. Ask yourself whether the above sounds exciting to you in practice every day, and if it does, we would love to hear from you.
Who succeeds in this role
We look for people who match our ambition levels, and then raise it further.
In this role, you will:
Work directly with business and engineering teams to take ideas from research to production. You will need to have the ability and the ambition to understand business needs and client requirements to deliver at the highest level.
Build AI-powered features across AltOS, including agents, document intelligence, workflow automation, and knowledge retrieval systems.
Own problems end-to-end, from scoping and architecture through to shipping and iteration while keeping up to date with developments in AI. Examples of previous AI projects are a plus.
Help define how AI is applied across Vega's products and internal workflows.
