SUMMARY
The AI Engineer, Product will design and deliver AI-enabled products, agent-driven tools, and workflow solutions that help teams across Welltower work more effectively and make better decisions. This role owns solutions from concept through production, partnering directly with users to translate real business needs into intuitive, reliable products.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can move quickly, iterate on live feedback, and build reusable capabilities that scale across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and launch AI-enabled products, agent-driven tools, interfaces, and workflow solutions that support how teams across the business work and make decisions.
- Own product solutions end to end, from early prototyping and technical design through production deployment, iteration, and ongoing improvement.
- Partner directly with business users to understand workflows, pain points, and decision-making needs and translate them into practical, high-impact product capabilities.
- Design, tune, and evaluate agent behavior to ensure outputs are useful, reliable, and trustworthy enough for users to act on.
- Prototype quickly using real-world data and workflows, incorporating direct user feedback and observed usage to continuously improve the product experience.
- Build configurable and reusable product components that can be adapted across teams and use cases rather than relying on one-off solutions.
- Integrate AI models, data sources, APIs, and internal systems into cohesive user experiences and business workflows.
- Develop evaluation, testing, and monitoring approaches that help maintain product quality, performance, and reliability as solutions scale.
- Balance speed of delivery with sound engineering practices, maintainability, security, and appropriate access to sensitive information.
- Contribute to the evolution of Welltower's AI product architecture, development standards, and best practices as the platform and use cases continue to grow.

TRAVEL
Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with demonstrated ownership of products or product surfaces end to end.
- Experience developing and deploying AI- or agent-enabled applications in a commercial production environment.
- Experience building data-intensive, decision-support, analytics, or workflow products where users rely on the output to take action.
- Strong understanding of modern AI application patterns, including model integration, agent workflows, evaluation, and iterative improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with complex, imperfect real-world data and translate it into reliable product experiences.
- Strong product judgment and a user-oriented mindset, with the ability to gather feedback, identify the underlying need, and rapidly iterate toward a useful solution.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with evolving priorities and a high degree of ownership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Based in the New York City metro area and able to work onsite.

COMPENSATION
Salaries may vary by location. The base salary range for this role in New York is $160,000 to $220,000. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a total rewards package that includes an annual bonus opportunity, equity awards through our long-term incentive program, and a comprehensive benefits suite.
