AI Augmented Developer (Full Stack - Innovation Team)
For over 40 years, LGI has been developing software solutions for the healthcare sector. Today, AI is at the core of how we build software and is shaping the next generation of our solutions—not as an end in itself, but as a powerful enabler of our mission: improving the performance of healthcare organizations.
We're looking for exceptional talent—people who are passionate about technology, naturally curious, and driven by high standards. People for whom exploration and innovation are second nature, and who want to apply their skills to a mission that goes beyond writing code—one that has a meaningful impact on decisions, processes, and ultimately, people's lives.
We value diversity and are committed to equal employment opportunities for everyone. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please don't hesitate to let us know.
At LGI, AI is at the core of how we build software and a key pillar of our acceleration strategy to transform how clinical software is developed for Quebec's healthcare system. Tools, models, and development practices evolve rapidly, and we're looking for ambitious, curious, and passionate people who learn quickly, adapt continuously, and embrace change.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain enterprise B2B application modules with AI as your development copilot in a C#, .NET Core, Java, Angular, React, and Kubernetes environment.
- Work with modern build and deployment pipelines.
- Generate, validate, and continuously improve unit tests using AI-assisted development tools.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation with AI.
- Keep the end user in mind—what you build is used by clinicians and has a direct impact on patient care.
- Participate in code reviews, applying critical judgment to AI-generated code.
- Quickly explore and understand existing codebases by leveraging AI to accelerate onboarding and productivity.
- Maintain clinical data integrations, including data pipelines and HL7 v2 interfaces.
- Develop AI-augmented features and contribute to the design of AI models or integrations as needed.
- Stay current with emerging AI tools, models, and development practices, and actively share your learnings with the team.
- Take ownership of your deliverables from requirements through testing, documentation, and production deployment.
- Follow Law 25 and LSSSS compliance standards under the guidance of the team.
How You'll Use AI
- Generate, complete, and understand code using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and similar tools across a dynamic, multi-language technology stack.
- Generate unit test cases and critically evaluate their quality, relevance, and coverage.
- Produce technical documentation from existing code.
- Analyze error messages, logs, and stack traces, using AI alongside code profiling tools to accelerate debugging.
- Explore and map unfamiliar codebases to become productive quickly.
- Write precise prompts, iterate effectively, recognize when AI is producing unreliable output, and take control when necessary.
- Quickly adopt new AI tools and models whenever they provide measurable productivity gains.
What We're Looking For Above All
- Minimum 6years of software development experience with technologies such as C#, .NET Core, Java, Angular, React, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
- A fast, self-directed learner who explores, experiments, and grows independently without requiring step-by-step guidance, and who quickly adapts as technologies and the AI ecosystem evolve.
- Daily use of AI development tools, with the ability to demonstrate measurable productivity gains through AI-assisted development.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and recommendations rather than accepting them at face value.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, an interest in complex systems and architectures, and a genuine desire to understand how software is built.
- Solid foundations in object-oriented programming and algorithmic thinking.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—you can clearly explain your reasoning, ask for help when appropriate, and actively contribute to technical discussions.
- A collaborative mindset that values collective intelligence to accelerate problem-solving and decision-making.
- A desire to work in a regulated environment such as digital healthcare.
- Ambition to continuously grow and advance your career.
Nice to Have
- Personal AI projects, open-source contributions, GitHub activity, and experimentation outside of work—these are noticed and highly valued.
- Familiarity with data integration or messaging standards such as HL7 v2.
Here are just some of the many benefits designed to support your personal well-being, professional growth, and financial health:
- A work environment built on trust, autonomy, and collaboration.
- Opportunities to grow, excel, and work alongside curious, talented colleagues.
- A culture of continuous learning, with dedicated time for professional development, access to a leading learning platform, and cutting-edge tools.
- Meaningful and challenging projects that advance healthcare technology and support the work of more than 320,000 healthcare professionals, benefiting over 6 million patients.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance from your first day, a group retirement savings plan (RRSP) with employer contributions, 24/7 virtual healthcare, an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), and a minimum of three weeks of paid vacation per year.
At LGI Healthcare Solutions, we are committed to fostering diversity and providing equal employment opportunities for everyone.
