Graphic Design Intern

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Graphic Design Intern to support the creation and editing of graphic content across digital channels. You will turn creative ideas into on-brand, engaging visual assets. This position can be customized to suit your strengths and interests, and may include visual storytelling for digital advertising, brand website, email marketing, print layouts, and social media. This is a hands-on role where your ideas and output will make a real impact.

• Commitment: Part-time (exact hours to be discussed)
• Format: Remote
• Duration: 160 hours
• Compensation: $18.47/hr (LA County subsidy)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Connect classroom knowledge with real business planning, execution and evaluation
• Learn business practices and professional norms at a growth-stage consumer goods company
• Build confidence working through business problems that require communication, critical thinking, and collaboration
• Understand how company objectives drive decision making and priorities
• Strengthen communication skills through collaborative discussion, regular updates, and constructive feedback
• Understand how brand voice, target customers and marketing goals guide creative decisions
• Gain experience developing and adapting creative concepts for digital ads, landing pages, email campaigns, social media and more
• Practice adapting creative assets into different formats, sizes and placements while maintaining brand consistency

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create, edit, and deliver graphic design assets for use in digital ads, brand website, social media, email marketing and more
• Participate in creative brainstorming for target user based campaigns and landing pages
• Develop concepts that align with brand voice and marketing goals
• Maintain on-brand consistency across graphic content
• Adapt assets into multiple formats and sizes for different platforms
• Organize and manage digital asset libraries
• Stay updated on trends, editing tools and best practices to enhance visual impact

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A curious, organized and dependable self-starter
• Strong work ethic, careful attention to detail, and solid communication skills
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Experience with creative production or editing software
• Strong understanding of design principles and visual composition
• A portfolio of design work (school work is fine)

NICE TO HAVE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)

• Basic understanding of marketing concepts and e-commerce metrics
• Interest in e-commerce, marketing, branding and/or entrepreneurship
• Familiarity with any of the following tools:
• Google Workspace: Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Meet, Calendar
• E-commerce: Shopify, Microsoft Clarity, Klaviyo, Meta Business Suite, Google Merchant Center, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner
• Creative: Canva, Figma, CapCut, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or similar
• Al: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar
• Social Media: Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit
• Project Management: Asana, Trello

PHILANTHROPY

We partner with Laguna Canyon Foundation, a local non-profit that leads conservation, trail maintenance and protection of the South Coast Wilderness. Every quarter, we volunteer as a team to support trail maintenance, beach cleanup or other local causes.

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information

Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

• Identification (School or State ID).
• Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
• Birth Certificate.
• Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
• The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
• You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.

NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
