Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Provides clerical support to the Child Welfare Parish Office.
- This position requires a broad knowledge of programs and policies for Foster Care, Adoption, Child Protection Services, and Family Services Programs; as well as TIPS procedures and policies, ACESS System, computer skills, and the ability to prioritize.
- Answer multi-line phone system, screen and route calls, keep logs of visitors and calls
- Assists with scheduling training for individuals interested in becoming certified Foster Parents.
- Provides backup to other Clerical Staff
- Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: This vacancy is located in the East Baton Rouge Parish Child Welfare Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
