Accounting Specialist

What is Embat?

Embat is one of the fastest-growing FinTech scale-ups in Europe. Founded in 2021, we are on a mission to redefine how mid-market and enterprise companies interact with their money. We don’t just offer visibility; we provide the financial operating system for the modern era.

The Evolution:

From SaaS to Infrastructure we’ve moved beyond being a platform to becoming a powerhouse of financial services. We are currently building EmbatOne, our own banking infrastructure designed to bridge the gap between traditional banking and seamless digital operations.

But we aren't just moving money, we are making it smarter. With Tellme, our proprietary AI financial assistant, we are empowering CFOs and treasury teams to query complex data and get real-time insights through natural language, turning manual reporting into an archaic memory.

Scale & Impact:

The Team: We are now a team of 150+ exceptional individuals working from our hubs in Spain, UK and DACH, united by a culture of high performance and radical ownership.

The Volume: Our transaction engines handle massive, high-volume payment flows for multinationals, ensuring security and resilience in every cent moved.

The Backing: In May 2026, Embat secured a €30M Series B led by Cathay Innovation, with continued backing from Creandum, Samaipata, 4Founders Capital, and VentureFriends. This milestone is accelerating our international expansion and strengthening our ambition to become the AI-native treasury platform powering the next generation of global finance teams.

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team in Madrid.

This is not a “traditional accounting” role. We are looking for someone hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced scale-up environment where deadlines are real and the volume of operations is high. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our financial data while helping us build scalable accounting processes for the next stage of Embat’s growth.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a proactive mindset, someone who anticipates issues before they escalate, thrives under pressure, and constantly looks for smarter and faster ways of working.

• Support the automation of supplier invoice processes.

• Perform daily bank reconciliations using Embat.

• Support monthly closing activities and ensure accounting accuracy.

• Manage accounts payable operations.

• Assist in the preparation of periodic tax filings.

• Support the preparation of documentation for annual audits.

• Detect accounting inconsistencies and resolve issues proactively before escalation.

• Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure data reliability.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve and optimize accounting processes.

Objectives

3 Months:

• Become fully autonomous in day-to-day accounting operations and reconciliation processes.

• Understand Embat’s accounting workflows, tools, and reporting structure.

• Contribute actively to monthly closings with high attention to detail and accuracy.

6 Months:

• Own key operational accounting processes independently.

• Improve efficiency in reconciliation and invoice management workflows.

• Become a reliable point of contact for operational accounting topics within the Finance team.

12 Months:

• Help strengthen and scale Embat’s accounting foundations as the company grows internationally.

• Drive meaningful process improvements and automation initiatives.

• Contribute to building a highly efficient and scalable finance operation.

• Experience with bank reconciliations and accounts payable/accounts receivable management.

• Experience working with ERP or accounting software; Business Central is a plus.

• Advanced Excel skills.
