At Blueground, we believe that when your base is reliable, the world opens up. That’s why we’re building the world’s leading platform for living.

We’re on an exponential growth path to redefine living and create an entirely new category. Our edge? Powerful proprietary tech, operational excellence, and a team that executes with speed and discipline.

Our culture is grounded in five principles:

• Guests first – Every decision starts with their experience.
• Move fast – We value speed, momentum, and action.
• Dive in – The magic is always in the details, and we go deep.
• Embrace change – Change isn’t a disruption; it’s how we grow.
• Keep it honest – Transparency accelerates progress—and strengthens relationships.

If you’re ready to do the best work of your life and help reshape how the world lives, we’d love to meet you.

We are looking for an Accounting & Reporting Manager:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accounting and statutory obligations of Blueground's UAE entity locally.
• Part of the EMEA accounting team with responsibility for bookkeeping across EMEA markets.
• This is a hands-on role — you will be responsible for the integrity of the books, the accuracy of all statutory reporting, and full compliance with UAE regulatory and tax obligations.
• This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with deep technical expertise who takes pride in clean books, airtight reconciliations, and bulletproof financial statements.

What you will focus on:

Bookkeeping

• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and in accordance with IFRS and UAE GAAP.
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll postings, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany entries.
• Perform and review all balance sheet reconciliations every month.

Month-End & Year-End Close

• Drive month-end closing, including journal entry preparation and review, trial balance sign-off, and submission of management accounts to Group within agreed timelines.
• Support the year-end close process and coordinate all preparatory work ahead of the statutory audit.

Statutory Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS, including all required disclosures and supporting schedules.
• Maintain technical accounting positions on key areas including lease accounting (IFRS 16), revenue recognition (IFRS 15), and fixed assets.
• Ensure Group reporting submissions are accurate, complete, and reconciled to local books at all times.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the external auditors, managing the audit process end-to-end from planning through to sign-off.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Act as the statutory representative of Blueground in the UAE, including signatory authority on regulatory filings, banking documentation, accounts payable cheques, and government submissions.
• Prepare and file UAE VAT returns accurately and on time, maintaining full supporting documentation.
• Manage corporate tax (CT) compliance for the UAE entity, including calculations, filings, and correspondence with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
• Ensure compliance with economic substance regulations and any other applicable UAE regulatory requirements.
• Oversee corporate secretarial matters for the UAE entity in coordination with legal counsel.

Treasury & Cash Management

• Maintain local banking relationships.
• Handle intercompany settlement and reconciliation in coordination with the Group treasury function.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with a strong track record in general ledger management, statutory reporting, and financial close.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) — required.
• Prior experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits independently.
• Solid working knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment; prior UAE or GCC accounting experience strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep technical accounting knowledge with strong command of IFRS.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything from journal entries to statutory disclosures.
• Proficient in ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central is a nice-to-have) and advanced Excel.
• Organised and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple close deadlines simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communicator, able to document accounting positions and liaise with auditors and regulators.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Benefits

• Competitive salary and annual performance bonus.
• Eligibility for stock option grants (i.e., equity participation at Blueground).
• Flexible paid time off.
• Group health insurance program.
• Enhanced parental leave.
• Dynamic working environment with talented people.
• Flexible work environment through our Blueground Nomads employee mobility program.
• Complimentary accommodation in Blueground locations.
