Account Executive

Company Overview

Plantiful is building the operating system for the nursery and horticulture industry. Plants make their way to backyards, parks, and landscapes through a supply chain of skilled, passionate growers and wholesalers, many of whom run on thin margins with spreadsheets and decades-old tools. We're replacing that patchwork with one modern system where production, sales, fulfillment, and finances run together.

Founded in 2022, Plantiful was built on hundreds of conversations with growers, wholesalers, and retailers across the country, and that's still how we build today: in the field, in the greenhouse, and on the loading dock, with the people doing the work. Our customers range from container nurseries and field-grown tree farms to native plant growers and retail garden centers.

Our mission is simple: make plant businesses more productive, because healthier businesses sell more plants and help make the world a greener place!

The Role

Nurseries run on relationships, and so do we. We're looking for seasoned Account Executives to help bring Plantiful to more nurseries, growers, and wholesalers across the country. You'll own your pipeline from the first conversation to the signed contract, and you'll help shape how we sell as the team grows.

You'll join a tight-knit sales team who know the green industry well, and you'll work closely with our CEO and Founding Account Executives. We're still a small, fast-moving company, so your ideas will be heard and your impact will be visible from day one.

What You'll Do

• Build your pipeline. Find and start conversations with nurseries in your territory through cold calls, email, inbound, and industry events.
• Own the full sales cycle. Take prospects from discovery to demo to close, and set new customers up for a smooth handoff to our CS team.
• Hone the playbook. Work with our CEO and fellow AEs to test new approaches, sharpen what already works, and help continue to scale sales processes.
• Build a better Plantiful. Communicate with Company leadership to understand the latest industry trends and product-related feedback from prospects to help our team decide what we build next
• Keep a clean pipeline. Maintain accurate reporting and forecasting in HubSpot so everyone knows where every deal stands. Help the team leverage AI to work smarter.

Where You'll Work

Hybrid in New York, NY, in the office Monday through Wednesday. You'll also travel to industry trade shows and events, where we meet growers face-to-face.

This role is for you if...

You love winning deals, especially ones that make a real difference for a small business. You want to grow your career alongside a team that's growing just as fast, you love horticulture (or are excited to fall in love with it). Bonus points if you know your B&B from your bare root.

• Comfort learning quickly, moving fast, and following through
• Collaborative team player comfortable working with our fellow AEs, and our CS, engineering, and leadership teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You'll talk with prospects every day and work across teams internally
