Account Executive (Liverpool)

With millions of diners, 60,000+ restaurant partners and 25+ years of experience, OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: BKNG), is an industry leader with a passion for helping restaurants thrive. Our world-class technology empowers restaurants to focus on what matters most – their team, their guests, and their bottom line – while enabling diners to discover and book the perfect restaurant for every occasion.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global team and its portfolio of metasearch brands. Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture.

About the Job

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Account Executive to help grow OpenTable's presence across Liverpool and the surrounding area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves getting out into the market, meeting people and winning new business. You'll be working directly with restaurant owners and operators, understanding their challenges and showing them how OpenTable's technology can help their businesses thrive.

Liverpool is an exciting growth market for us, so we're looking for someone who enjoys building something, isn't afraid to pick up the phone or walk into a restaurant, and knows how to turn a conversation into a long-term partnership.

This is a remote-based, field-focused role with up to 60% domestic travel. You'll have the independence to manage your own territory, supported by a wider team who are passionate about hospitality and helping restaurants succeed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Winning new business: Proactively identify and approach restaurants across your territory, building your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking and face-to-face visits.

• Building relationships: Get to know restaurant owners and operators, understand what matters to them and become a trusted partner rather than just another salesperson.

• Bringing OpenTable to life: Deliver engaging, tailored demonstrations that show restaurants how our technology can make a real difference to their business.

• Owning your territory: Develop and execute a clear sales strategy, identify opportunities for growth and take ownership of your performance against targets.

• Navigating the sales process: Manage opportunities from initial outreach through to negotiation and signed agreement, confidently handling objections along the way.

• Keeping things organised: Use Salesforce to manage your pipeline, track activity, forecast accurately and stay on top of your opportunities.

• Being our eyes and ears in the market: Share insights, customer feedback and competitor activity with the wider business to help us continuously improve.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within a consultative or solution-selling environment.

• A proven track record of generating your own opportunities through outbound prospecting and consistently working towards or exceeding sales targets.

• Confidence approaching new businesses, starting conversations and building relationships from scratch.

• Strong discovery, negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to demonstrate clear value to prospective customers.

• Someone who is self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing their own territory and workload.

• Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, alongside Google Workspace.

• Comfortable working remotely and spending a significant amount of time out in the field, with up to 60% domestic travel.

Even Better If You Have

• Experience selling into restaurants, hospitality or the food and beverage industry.

• Previous experience developing a new territory or growing an emerging market.

• Experience using data and insights to identify opportunities and build compelling business cases.

• A degree or equivalent practical experience.

• A genuine interest in hospitality, technology and helping independent businesses grow.

What Will Make You Successful?

We're looking for someone who's naturally curious, commercially driven and comfortable creating their own opportunities.

You'll enjoy the challenge of opening doors, building relationships and turning a relatively untapped market into a successful territory. You'll be resilient when things don't go to plan, confident in your approach and motivated by seeing the direct impact of your work.

Most importantly, you'll understand that great sales isn't just about hitting targets. It's about listening, asking the right questions and finding solutions that genuinely make a difference to your customers.

Work Environment & Flexibility

At OpenTable, we pride ourselves on fostering a global and dynamic work environment. As a team member with us, you will benefit from a schedule tailored to accommodate a global workforce operating across multiple time zones. While the majority of your responsibilities may align with conventional business hours, there will be instances where you are expected to manage communications - via calls, Slack messages, or emails - outside of regular working hours to effectively collaborate with international colleagues, respond to restaurant partners, and/or address urgent matters. OpenTable will always abide by and consider local laws and regulations.

Inclusion

We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We know the best ideas come when we bring different voices to the table, so we're building a team as dynamic as the diners and restaurants we serve—and fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.

If you need any reasonable adjustments during the application/interview process, or on the job, we’re here to support you. Please reach out to your recruiter to request any accommodations.
