Clara is the leading platform in Latin America for companies to execute and manage every payment operation. More than 50,000 leading and fast-growing businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the region’s fastest-growing company. We’re passionate about helping every company we work with become more effective—and, through that, raising the region’s competitiveness. We’re ~400 people, backed by Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others.
What you'll do
We're looking for an Account Executive, Clara Global to own the commercial launch of our first AI-native product designed for borderless operations. Based out of our Mexico City hub, you will be dedicated to selling "Clara Global" globally—without any geographic restrictions, though with a strategic focus on scaling across LATAM, Iberia, and beyond. This is a pure "hunter" role in a greenfield territory where you will build the pipeline, the strategy, and the playbook from the ground up.
- Own the full sales cycle for Clara Global entirely from Mexico City, identifying, prospecting, and closing companies worldwide that need a modern, multi-currency reimbursements solution.
- Act as a product specialist managing active clients from our installed base, driving adoption of our new reimbursements solution to increase Total Payment Volume (TPV) and deepen existing relationships.
- Target and win two distinct buyer profiles: existing Clara enterprise clients with operations in new markets, and net-new global companies that have never heard of Clara before.
- Act as a relentless outbound hunter, generating a high-quality pipeline through Amplemarket, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, cold outreach, and creative multi-channel approaches.
- Lead consultative, high-impact product demos with CFOs, Finance Directors, and HR leaders, positioning Clara as the definitive alternative to fragmented global expense processes.
- Maintain pristine pipeline hygiene and accurate forecasting in HubSpot, applying structured qualification frameworks across a high-volume, multi-geography funnel.
- Exceed monthly and quarterly targets for new customers, TPV, and credit line activation.
- Act as the internal vanguard for global expansion—relaying competitive signals, pricing feedback, and market intelligence to Product and Leadership via Slack and cross-functional syncs.
Who you are
Must haves:
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience with a fierce outbound and hunter track record, ideally within fintech, payments, or high-growth SaaS.
- Proven role-specific execution managing complex, full-cycle sales processes and closing deals across international borders, different time zones, and multiple currencies.
- Highly self-directed—you thrive in ambiguity, operate effectively without a predefined playbook, and have a proven ability to build a territory from scratch.
- Hands-on proficiency with CRM tools like HubSpot and outbound prospecting platforms.
- Experience or interest in AI tools to automate workflows, accelerate prospecting, and evolve sales conversations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of successfully selling to executive stakeholders (CFOs, VP Finance).
- Adaptability to fast-changing environments and comfort operating in a hyper-growth setting.
Nice to haves:
- Direct experience selling into Iberia (Spain, Portugal) or other international markets beyond MX/CO/BR.
- Basic proficiency in Portuguese or a desire to learn it.
- Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or BI tools like Metabase to evaluate pipeline coverage and territory data.
- A good sense of humor.
Build Your Sales Career at Clara
At Clara, we don’t just offer a sales job—we provide an environment designed for high performance, long-term wealth, and continuous career growth.
What We Leave Behind
If you have been in sales long enough, you know the industry’s bad habits. We actively reject them:
- No “Rolodex” Hiring: We don’t hire just for connections. We value professionals who actually care to learn our product, solve real customer problems, and know how to close.
- No “Churn and Burn”: We reject the revolving door culture. When we hire you, we invest in your quick success and long-term retention.
The Clara Sales Model
We engineered a transparent system built to help you win big:
- #Ownership (Uncapped Potential): We deeply value the Individual Contributor. Our top-performing AEs consistently earn more than their managers, backed by absolutely zero commission caps and access to company equity. In our servant leadership model, even our CEO is building tools to help your productivity.
- #Simplicity & #Clarity (Transparent Compensation): No complex math required. Your variable compensation is directly aligned with business goals, with real-time visibility over your metrics so you always know exactly where you stand.
- #Inclusivity (Teamwork Meets Territory): We carve out clear, fair territories so you can autonomously run your own book of business, backed by a highly collaborative global team.
- #Pride (A Product That Delivers): We build exceptional spend management products that actually solve the customer’s pain points, making your pitching process smoother and more impactful.
- #ABC (An Expanding Arsenal): We never settle. Continuous platform innovation and new product launches mean you always have an ever-growing toolkit to cross-sell and hit your targets faster.
Where we work
This is a hybrid role: you'll split your time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles — you'll spend time in the office naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks.
