A Malaysia-based design leadership role delivering creative for a client's retail workstream: translating brand and shopper briefs into retail activation, POSM, premiums/GWP, packaging visuals and branded merchandise. Day to day it's brief review, design delivery and mentoring, using Adobe Creative Suite plus 3D tools like Rhino, KeyShot or Cinema 4D.
The 3D Retail Design Lead will provide Malaysia-based design leadership for the client’s Malaysia workstream, supporting the immediate client resource requirement and increasing creative capacity across catalogue, retail design, POSM, sample approval and design update workstreams.
The role will work within the client’s APAC creative structure, partnering with creative, project-management and client-service stakeholders to review briefs, advise feasibility and timelines, and deliver high-quality creative outputs aligned to the client’s brand expectations and local market needs.
- Lead and support day-to-day creative delivery for the client’s Malaysia workstream, with design approvals continuing through the APAC Creative Director until the team is fully up to speed.
- Support the catalogue workstream, sample approvals, design updates and related retail / POSM design requirements for the client.
- Translate business and shopper briefs into practical creative direction, design routes and production-ready design guidance across retail activation, POSM, premiums, GWP and branded merchandise workstreams.
- Deliver and oversee creative outputs across core APAC design capabilities, including basic concept design, visual design, POS adaptation design, basic packaging visualization and branded merchandise design.
- Review incoming briefs with project-management and client-service partners, advising on feasibility, lead times, dependencies and creative requirements before work begins.
- Help manage high-volume and fast-turnaround creative demand, escalating capacity risks early and supporting the team in prioritizing urgent briefs.
- Maintain consistency with the client’s brand governance while ensuring outputs remain relevant for the Malaysia market and wider APAC ways of working.
- Collaborate with APAC creative, project management and client stakeholders to ensure smooth handover of working files, design rationale and next-step actions.
- Support continuous improvement of the client’s creative workflow by identifying bottlenecks, recurring brief requirements and opportunities to standardize outputs.
- Work collaboratively and mentor other designers that form part of the workstream.
