An in-house 2nd line IT support engineer at a hospital pharmacy services company, based in Preston or Brighton. Day to day the role covers Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID/Intune, Windows endpoint support, and Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/networking troubleshooting, plus liaising with third-party support providers and MSPs.
Salary: £35,000 - 38,000 per year
Requirements:- At least 2 years experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Basic experience administering Microsoft Entra ID and Intune
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and endpoint support
- Experience supporting Active Directory environments
- Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and networking fundamentals
- Experience working with third-party support providers and MSPs
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills and patience explaining technology to non-technical people
- Desirable or developable in the role: PowerShell scripting; creating dynamic groups and deploying applications through Intune; experience with hybrid Microsoft environments; endpoint protection or EDR experience; familiarity with CIS Benchmarks; healthcare or regulated-sector experience; Microsoft certifications
- United Kingdom work authorisation required
- Reliable commuting to, or plans to relocate before starting work near, Brighton and Hove BN3 1TL preferred
- Provide second-line support across laptops, desktops, mobiles and peripherals, and pick up service desk escalations
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access across Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Carry out day-to-day administration of Microsoft Entra ID and Intune, including device enrolment and lifecycle management
- Support the development of Intune policies and security baselines, and package and deploy applications
- Work with managed service providers, software vendors and suppliers, ensuring their work meets our needs
- Contribute to projects, migrations and rollouts, including supporting our move towards hybrid join
