2027 Graduate Analyst

We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. Find out more about our fantastic offerings at !

We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.

If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count. Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife

At Zopa, our Analysts don’t just analyse the business – they help shape it.

From designing our products and customer experiences, to deciding our lending criteria and target markets, our Analysts are at the heart of every major decision we make.

You’ll combine creative problem solving with strong numerical and communication skills, turning data into insights and ideas into real-world impact. You’ll have meaningful ownership from the start, while learning from talented colleagues across the business.

It’s no surprise we’re one of the UK’s 100 Most Loved Workplaces. But don’t just take our word for it – hear from some of our recent grads:

“You’re surrounded by smart, driven, and insightful people, with whom you are always facing an engaging challenge – there are no boring days here.”

“Zopa has broken every negative stereotype I had of working at a bank. As a company it is always pushing new boundaries, and as an individual you are constantly encouraged to innovate.”

“I love how you start with a group of graduates from diverse backgrounds at the same time, and Zopa strikes a great balance between challenging you and setting you up for success.”

You don’t need to arrive knowing every tool or technique! Your first four months will include a structured graduate training programme designed to give you a broad foundation across Analytics at Zopa. You’ll rotate through four placements and complete a project for each, giving you the chance to apply your learnings to real business problems. We make extensive use of AI-tools (both generic foundation models and skills developed locally) in all our work including knowledge discovery, code development, and task automation. Training in relevant AI tool use is also part of each of the placements:

• Intro to Zopa & Technical Skills – get to know Zopa, our products and how we use data, while deepening your technical skills (including SQL and Python)
• AI Applications – Learn how analysis using large language models and associated transformer-based architectures is applied to real business problems
• Data Science – Develop your data science skills, including building gradient boosted and sequence-based models, and put them into practice in a competition to build the best model to address a real prediction problem
• Product Economics – understand the economics behind our product design and lending decisions, and learn techniques for forecasting future value

Together, these placements provide broad training in the tools, concepts and business context used across our Analytics teams, preparing you to join any of the analyst teams within Zopa.

We’re not expecting you to know everything already. We’re looking for people who are:

• Numerically confident – comfortable working with mathematics at A-level complexity
• Analytical – able to break down complex challenges, apply logic and make thoughtful judgements
• Naturally curious – keen to ask questions, explore data and understand how things could work better
• Excited by technology – interested in learning tools such as Python and SQL and exploring how AI is changing the way we work
• Ready to Dream Big – curious and ambitious, willing to challenge existing thinking and make progress even when the answer isn’t obvious
• Prepared to Own It – willing to take initiative, take responsibility for outcomes and follow things through
• Motivated to Win Together – collaborative, open to different perspectives and focused on achieving great outcomes with others

Diversity Statement

Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments.

Our approach to AI in interviews

At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out — it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs.

Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process.

Behavioural and competency-based interviews: please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you — your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other.

Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
